Description:
Our client is seeking a Medical Education Content Specialist to develop grants and continuing medical education (CME) activities for physicians and healthcare professionals in compliance with ACCME, FDA, OIG, and PhRMA Code guidelines. The Medical Education Content Specialist will conduct necessary research and write appropriate medical educational content, including needs assessments, learning objectives, activity overviews, abstracts, activity content (eg, slides, monographs, case studies), posttests, evaluations, and outcomes measurements, as well as review medical content for accuracy, validity, scientific rigor, and absence of bias. Excellent maturity and professionalism are required, as this specialist will work closely with world-renowned physician experts to develop educational activities. The specialist should demonstrate a clear grasp of and commitment to CME as distinguished from pharmaceutical industry-funded development and marketing activities. Ideal candidate will desire a career in medical education writing and healthcare quality improvement. Excellent project management, organization, writing skills, computer skills (as they relate to medical writing of educational content), and time management skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
The specialist must possess a masters or doctoral degree in a science-related field with 3+ years of relevant experience. Clinical experience is a plus, and CME experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Contribute to forecast goals by helping to develop successful proposals that are funded
- Write robust, compelling, and innovative needs assessments that are based upon multiple sources beyond literature searches
- Be familiar with the medical specialty boards and maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements and contribute to educational theory and educational design
- Apply practice guidelines, performance measures, quality improvement, and other relevant data sources to attain desired outcomes of educational interventions
- Develop appropriate activity titles, topic titles, suggested faculty, and target audience(s)
- Serve as primary developer of content for CME programs, by creating learning objectives, abstracts, speaking points for slide presentations, and slide or other activity content
- Maintain communications related to activity content among faculty, providers, and other partners
- Maintain content- and faculty-related documentation as required by ACCME
- Demonstrate outstanding teaming and cross-functional teaming with inclusiveness and excellent communication
- Participate in one’s own professional development as required by the company and by the needs of the position
