Position Summary:
To direct programs which are planned and executed by a group of client services staff, which deliver cost-effective solutions to clients. Provide strategic consultation to the client(s) within this account. Actively pursue new business opportunities with existing or new clients to ensure adequate revenue growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities as Corporate Officer:
- Function as bank signatory for amounts up to $50,000
- May enter the Company into contractual obligations with any of our service clients up to a limit of $100,000. All contracts over $100,000 must be reviewed and approved by President and / or Group CEO.
- Responsible for strategic business planning to achieve US and International Company goals
- Member of US Board of Directors
- Conduct market analysis in order to identify new business opportunities
- Identify new business opportunities both with existing clients and new clients
- Develop and participate in new business presentations
- Review and approve proposals and estimates
- Develop new, original and innovative business ideas to meet clients’ needs
- Present new business ideas to clients
- Secure greater than or equal to $1,000,000 net revenue in new business annually
- Supervise the management of all projects in client services
- Where possible, expand business from client on all accounts managed by 10%
- Oversee the implementation and timely delivery of effective services by the accounts team to the complete satisfaction of the client
- Monitor staffing for client projects and identify resource needs as they arise
- Provide or ensure adequate progress reports on projects to clients and provide ongoing strategic counsel and advice to major clients
- Revise and approve draft budgets for all proposed activities
- Ensure internal cost control and adherence to agreed budgets
- Work with FPAs to ensure timely invoicing for all projects managed by team according to the payment terms agreed upon in the final proposal
- Revise and approve draft financial reconciliations on completion of projects
- Ensure adequate record keeping of project expenses and staff time sheets
- Monitor and revise net revenue and profit targets per project and for the accounts team to ensure average revenue for all projects managed meets appropriate revenue target
- Prepare financial forecasts
- Oversee planning and execution of all client services projects
- Communicate progress on each assigned project at weekly team update meetings with staff
- Make team members aware of availability during times of peak activity when assistance may be needed
- Ensure team adheres to SOPs
- Help less experienced Client Services team members where and when needed
- Follow up with team members on given assignments and provide feedback on completed tasks
- Train staff on reconciliations and explain importance of timely financial wrap up of project
- A bachelor’s degree (life sciences preferable) and a master’s of PhD plus at least 10 years of experience in a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment, OR
- Any appropriate combination of education and experience
- General computer proficiency required with knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
