They develop and execute high-quality, peer-reviewed clinical educational programs using interactive simulated patient encounters. Our client uses a proprietary, Internet-based system to deliver comprehensive, cost-effective learning with applications for practicing physicians, academic medical centers, and health care delivery organizations.
Description:
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in the medical education, medical communications or other pertinent field. Strong scientific and business background is required. Demonstrated understanding of the role of continuing education in medicine and patient outcomes is a must. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as he or she will be the primary lead working with collaborative partners and potential supporters.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, coordination, communication, and implementation of innovative education strategies and plans for selected therapeutic areas, including which audience and medical meetings to target, precise tactics and their sequence.
- Will act as the primary lead in the grant development and submission process.
- Liaise with Academic and Medical Society CME Departments to identify educational opportunities for support and identify areas where there are educational gaps.
- Ensure that all of the Professional Education initiatives are conducted within an optimal regulatory compliance framework.
- Accountable for developing cost-effective deliverables, assisting in the development of cohesive budgets, and working with the CME Project Managers regarding budget variances and reconciliations for approved grants.
- Bachelor of Science with a minimum seven years experience in developing and executing innovative Continuing Medical Education strategy and tactics; MS, PhD, PharmD preferred.
- Must be able to develop strategic educational plans, budgets and clearly present plans and tactics to collaborative partners, internal team members and potential supporters.
- Should have established relationships with or at the minimum a significant knowledge of medical societies and academic centers in order to assist in the collaboration process and the development of strategic partnerships.
- Must have a working knowledge of adult learning principles and case based learning. Prior experience executing activities that integrate adult learning best practices is a must.
- Incumbent must be well versed in online as well as live educational activities for physicians and other health care practitioners and thoroughly understand the impact of case based learning on the clinical practice.
- Knowledge of multiple disease state/therapeutic areas is a plus; specifically cardiovascular disease, oncology, metabolic diseases, respiratory and HIV/infectious diseases is preferred.
- Must possess strong information research skills and participate as a key stakeholder in directing the development of needs assessments with the medical team.
- Must have excellent grant writing skills and ability to present grant concepts clearly and concisely demonstrating the impact on clinical practice and patient outcomes.
- Experience with guidelines and principles of health care professional education is required and knowledge of the ACCME guidelines is key.
- Excellent computer and internet skills are required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Strong attention to detail and work process is important.
- Quality focused and outcomes driven is a must.
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time, domestic.
