Description:
Work closely with vendors in purchasing all print and premium items for a diverse group of clients. Ensure that the quality of print work is at high standards for our client. Understand all aspects of print production and Interact with the art directors to find solutions to printing issues. Oversee the workflow and amount of the daily work assigned to each coordinator. Meet regularly with other department heads to ensure consistent Operating Procedures within the department.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Understand all aspects of print production (postal regulations, size regulations for mailing)
- Ensure best pricing for all printed materials.
- Deliver accurate and timely manner and collaborate with the creative department to decide best methods of producing certain invitational/printed materials.
- Monitor the accuracy of bluelines and match prints and go on press when necessary.
- Prioritize workflow of the department.
- Manage the quality control process of all print materials, including press-time.
- Obtain pricing and estimates
- Schedule meetings, internally and externally with outside vendors.
- Keep up to date on new production techniques.
- Train an assistant production manager : Position is presently not available.
- Manage the entire traffic department
- Train the coordinators in the daily routine of routing materials
- Interact with Program Directors to find solutions to daily problems
- Oversee flow and amount of overall daily, weekly and general workload on specific projects throughout the day.
- Train junior traffic personnel and new hires
- Meet with other departments to ensure available staffing for project deadlines.
- Attend Start-up meetings and status meetings with appropriate account teams.
- Assist in the development and distribution of schedules.
- Review workload with Operations Manager for efficient staffing
- Develop and refine managerial skills for people.
- Train the traffic coordinators in the SOP’s for the department.
- Consistent excellence in print production "Best practices".
- Achieve VP of Production Services status.
- To achieve support and trust for the traffic department.

- 4 year college Degree
- Working and operational knowledge of Outlook, EMS (purchase orders)
- Possess excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks

- At least 2 years print production experience
- 1-2 years medical education agency experience
