Position: Senior Account Executive
Location: Connecticut
Company Summary:
Full-service, Continuing Medical Education (CME) agency that services strategic development and implementation of long-term medical education programs.
Description:
Summary
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) is the core of an assigned team, responsible for day-to-day contact with the client and all internal Agency staff. The SAE has the "big picture" of the Account needs and helps to direct the team to meet those needs.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- The SAE is responsible for day-to-day management of assigned accounts. He/she determines the workflow and ensures that day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month goals are met.
- The SAE initiates projects based on approved strategies and tactics and is responsible for managing the budget. Initiating projects includes determining appropriate resources needed, eg, which departments are germane to the project including freelance assistance.
- The SAE is the day-to-day client contact. He/she is responsible for attending and conducting client status meetings and internal project status meetings; oral and written presentations; and reviewing all project financials including insuring that billing is conducted on schedule.
- Finally, it is critical for the SAE to be proficient in the science involved in the categories in which he/she works. Beyond client contact, he/she is also responsible for talking with physicians on a regular basis and interacting with the Agency science team.
- The SAE is the front-line with the client and must display confidence and poise. Any opportunities should be brought to the attention of senior members of the team; any problems identified early so that they can be addressed.
- The SAE must be comfortable communicating with physicians, clients and or vendors via writing, on the phone, and in person.
- The SAE also must utilize internal resources appropriately in order to maximize income
- Within several months on the account, we expect the SAE to have bonded with the client and any physicians with which they work. They should also have demonstrated an ability to lead the account team on a day-to-day basis and lead the client status calls.
- Ideally, the SAE will have 2-3 years account management experience in either advertising, public relations or medical education. An interest in science/medicine is critical; experience is preferable but not necessary.
- The SAE should have a bachelor’s degree and a proven track-record of leadership and demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
- The SAE must have a willingness to work overtime, travel, and attend off-hour events, etc.
- The job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position. Job-holders may be required to follow any other instructions, and to perform any other related duties required by their supervisor(s).
