Overview
Our client needs a highly motivated, dedicated, and personable Account Director to develop, support and/or implement projects for our pharma and biotech clients. He or she will report to the Vice President of Client Services, and will spend significant time at our clients’ offices. Regular car and plane travel will be required.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Account Management: developing, implementing, and adjusting account strategies and tactics designed to drive revenue and establish or solidify long-term business relationships; becoming the primary point of direct contact between our client and its national account customers. These customers represent enormous business opportunities —each with potential annual revenue exceeding $1 million. In this role, the AD will build and maintain client confidence, and become a trusted and reliable resource, by:
- Maintaining frequent contact and follow-up through highly professional correspondence.
- Debriefing the client to monitor and assure client satisfaction, and to identify client needs.
- Solving the client’s problems.
- Attending industry events and advisory boards.
- Project/Program Management: initiating, and ensuring on-time delivery of, projects and programs to clients. In this role, the AD will make sure that all projects are clearly defined and specified, assigned (if appropriate) to the right individual(s), and closely monitored.
- Business Development: creating or identifying new or enhanced programs and services—consistent with the strategic business plan—that can be sold to clients, and uncovering new revenue opportunities. In this role, the AD will:
- Network throughout the client’s organization.
- Gather, analyze, and translate relevant industry information into innovative programs and services.
- Prepare and deliver client estimates, budgets, proposals, and presentations.
- Required Skills/Qualifications
- Clinically trained PharmD or RN
- 5 to 7 years of previous healthcare industry experience, preferably in pharma/biotech
- Previous account management/sales experience preferred
- Excellent personal, written, and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
- Ability to work as part of a team, to juggle multiple projects, and to meet tight deadlines
