Job Summary:
This position provides project management for assigned healthcare communications and medical education projects from proposal stage through implementation. This position assists the Director, of Program Management in the implementation of medical education programs. Assigned projects and program assistance include the following tactics: scientific meetings (advisory boards, investigators’ meetings, symposia, speaker training programs, etc.), data dissemination programs (slide kits, publications, newsletters, videos, etc.), special projects (textbook programs, sales training materials, electronic media, etc.), and patient education materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, implements and manages assigned tactical projects that are included in client campaigns.
- Collaborates with in-house departments (Client Services, Medical Affairs, Creative Services) to build tactical proposals, including budgets and timeline milestones.
- In-house customer contact for assigned project after client go-ahead is received.
- Provides leadership and direction to in-house project team to implement project on target, on time, and on budget.
- Maximizes team productivity and resolves team issues, as needed.
- Responsible for producing client contact reports, ongoing project status updates, timeline, and budget tracking of assigned projects, including final budget reconciliation and invoicing.
- Develops program and administrative coordinators in implementation of assigned projects.
- Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field that provides background and skills necessary to perform duties and responsibilities of the position
- Should have at least 3 years experience in the medical device/pharmaceutical and/or healthcare communications industry; experience should include tactical medical marketing support as well as communications project management
- Knowledge of ACCME, AMA, and FDA guidelines regarding continuing medical education
- Excellent organization, management, team building, and oral and written communications skills
- An ability to develop leadership, marketing, and client relations skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Internet
- Travel required
