Summary of overall job function and responsibility:
The Senior Account Executive (SAE) will report to the President. The SAE will be responsible for all activities related to the successful sales of products and services. The SAE is expected to accomplish the Top 6 Responsibilities for Account Executives on an ongoing basis and to complete monthly and quarterly Goals & Objectives (G&Os). The SAE will actively prioritize tasks on a daily and weekly basis; monitor the completion of tasks and communicate all problems or issues related to sales or production to the President and provide suggested solutions to address the problem or issue. The SAE will work closely with the Production and Clinical Affairs teams to monitor and evaluate all production processes to ensure customer satisfaction.

- Time and territory management to include daily, weekly and quarterly communication with management
- Client collection procedures
- Ensure continuous verbal and electronic communication on all sales activities relating to the successful execution of all sales
- Alert Production Team to possible delays in meeting due dates for the completion of each project in the production queue
- Assemble and analyze tee-up/lead information, prepare project paperwork and submit to production staff on a timely basis
- Update and maintain all sales information which includes hardcopy and electronic files
- Develop a relationship with contact at MMS lists
- Utilize SalesForce.com to track all sales leads and sales
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and continued development of the production process
- Support production staff to ensure that there is not an interruption in work flow, for example: work as a team member to support Clinical Affairs and Production Team Members
- Learn, adapt, and monitor the use of internal procedures and policies to complete assigned tasks
- Prepare and monitor performance using the 30-60-90 Day Goals & Objectives Tool
- Provide feedback to the President during quarterly review meeting to be scheduled and coordinated by President
- Maintain calendar which includes daily, weekly, and monthly appointments. Utilize Outlook Task Manager. Provide weekly sales update on Friday and include schedule of appointments for forthcoming week
- Requires 5+ years of sales or sales management in the pharmaceutical or medical education sector.
- References, three manager, one peer colleague, and two direct reports.
- Requires knowledge and demonstrated sales success in the pharmaceutical or medical communications business sector.
- Requires minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, science, administration, or other relevant field.
- Experience selling a premium product at a premium price.
- Requires Advance to Expert User status in MS Office Suite-MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to use the Internet and remote e-mail services.
- Demonstrated ability to work long hours.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business in underdeveloped territory.
- Relationship referrals within pharmaceutical accounts.
