Description:
Position Objective:
- Provide independent medical direction for ongoing and new business activities, with minimal day-to-day direction from manager
- New business pitch preparation activities and presentations
- Provide direction for content development (outlines) and quality control (detailed reviews) on assigned accounts
- Manage publication planning activities for assigned accounts
- Develop enduring relationships with clients’ clinical and marketing teams
- Develop strong relationships with thought leaders in the areas of interest
- Help new business teams with pitch preparation and presentation; provide strategic insights re: key scientific and marketing data, positioning, messages
- Make decisions on content and fair balance, in consultation with account management and program management
- Proactively work with program management and account management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
- Self management to adhere to agreed-upon T&Es and budgets; alert team to potential deviations and overages
- Development of product positioning and messages for new products
- Balancing work quality with timelines
- Prioritizing multiple competing projects
- Doctoral level education in biomedical sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD)
- 2-3 year academic/industry experience, minimum 1 year in pharma/communications industry
- Advanced knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, breast implants
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to provide independent medical direction
- Develop solid understanding of the market and goals advocated by the medical and marketing clients
- Knowledge of CME procedures
- Software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, reference database programs such as Refman
