Role:
This position is responsible for identifying, developing and successfully securing new educational opportunities with commercial supporters. Responsibilities include working directly with senior management to define potential CME opportunities, identify and establish new commercial supporters and participate in developing and securing new CME opportunities. The Director, Educational Development is also responsible for maintaining and tracking new educational opportunities and reporting the financial status of potential CME opportunities to the Vice President, Educational Programming. The Director, Educational Development participates in all management team activities and works with Scientific Affairs and Educational Program Services to identify unmet educational opportunities, assure tactical alignment with strategy, and improve general operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Establish new relationships and identify new educational opportunities with commercial supporters
- Develop creative and compelling grant proposals and responses to RFPs in compliance with ACCME, OIG, & PhRMA requirements and guidelines
- Research and establish unmet educational needs, expert faculty, and strategy for grant development to be utilized in educational programs
- Establish, develop, and maintain long-term, relationships with potential commercial supporters and faculty
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to overall company direction
- Understand and adhere to all CME guidelines (AMA, OIG, FDA, PhRMA, ACCME)
- Bachelor’s required
- Demonstrated experience in developing grant proposals and educational program concepts based on current clinical and scientific data
- The successful candidate will have 3+ years experience in medical education in a high science therapeutic area, ie, oncology, immunology
- Strong relationship-building skills with grantors and key faculty
- Ability to work across various therapeutic areas and comfort in learning about new therapeutic areas
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and analytical capabilities
- Travel required (Approximately 30%)
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
