Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a Medical Writer, preferably with advanced education and experience in neuroscience to join their growing team. The Medical Writer will research, review, and write scientific and technical documentation for assigned healthcare accounts; includes responsibility for the planning and development of enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts. The position requires close collaboration with other medical writers, senior medical writers, associate medical directors, medical directors and editors.
Description of Duties:
- Responsible for the development of content for enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts
- Authoring/preparing "white papers"/clinical monographs
- Work with copywriters to develop scientifically accurate copy
- Function as lead technical writer on scientific/medical projects
- Research specific therapeutics, drugs, devices, technologies, etc
- Ongoing review of current literature for related topics, including competitors
- Authoring/preparing "white papers," clinical monographs and original publications, scientific conference reports
- Assist faculty in writing clinical papers
- Communicate with thought leaders to ensure accuracy and quality of content in scientific projects
- Work with team to develop scientifically accurate copy, including the use of accurate and up-to-date references
- Travel to scientific meetings to gather data for planned or potential publications
- Assist in the development of Educational Needs Assessments and create educational objectives for all educational programs
- Review collateral directed to professionals (ie, physicians/nurses)
- Develop medically relevant promotional copy (slide kits, brochures, etc)
- MD, PharmD, or PhD in biological sciences preferred
- Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and EndNote
- 1-2 years of medical writing experience
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Written Communication Skills: Ability to concisely and accurately communicate scientific information to a variety of audiences; constantly adapts to changing clinical data and CME regulations and requirements
- Attention to Detail: Produces accurate work, even when under pressure; checks the accuracy of information before using it or passing it on to others
- Priority Setting: Able to efficiently prioritize multiple tasks and provide effective direction to others; can quickly evaluate the resources necessary to accomplish a goal and put those into action
- Organizational Skills: Extremely organized and efficient; can respond to rapidly shifting priorities and maintain accuracy across multiple tasks
