Role(s):
This position is responsible for identifying, developing and successfully securing new educational opportunities with grantors. Responsibilities include working directly with senior management to define potential CME/CE opportunities, identify and establish new grantor relationships and participate in developing and securing new CME/CE opportunities. The Director, Educational Development is also responsible for maintaining and tracking new educational opportunities and reporting the financial status of potential CME/CE opportunities to the Executive Vice-President on a monthly basis. The Director, Educational Development participates in all management team activities and works with other staff to identify unmet educational opportunities, facilitate inter- and intra-company communication, strategy development, and general operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Establish new relationships and identify new educational opportunities with new grantors (pharmaceutical companies, associations, and other organizations as appropriate).
- Develop creative and compelling sponsorship options, grant proposals, and responses to RFPs in compliance with ACCME, OIG, & PhRMA requirements and guidelines.
- Research and establish educational needs, KOLs, and strategy for grant development to be utilized in educational programs.
- Generate leads through personal networks and cold-calling.
- Establish, develop, and maintain long-term, productive relationships with potential grantors.
- Participate in networking opportunities, such as association meetings and seminars.
- Maintain CRM software and new business reporting.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to overall company direction.
- Work with senior management to develop sales & marketing collateral.
- Assist in achieving stated revenue goals and profitability.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Understand and adhere to all CME/CE guidelines (AMA, OIG, FDA, PhRMA, ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, and IACET) and ensure they are communicated to our customers.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in education or science preferred.
- The successful candidate will have 7+ years experience in healthcare and quantifiable knowledge of the CME environment.
- Candidates must have an extensive knowledge of CME/CE , adult education, or healthcare education
- They will have strong relationship-building skills with executive-level personnel within the healthcare enterprise.
- Demonstrated experience in developing grant proposals and educational program concepts based on current clinical and scientific data.
- Ability to work across various therapeutic areas and comfort in learning about new therapeutic areas.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and analytical capabilities.
- Reliable, accurate financial forecasting skills.
- Ability to travel approximately twice per month along with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
