Overview
Duties include assisting in the strategic development of medical education programs; assisting in the identification and development of new business opportunities associated with current and or potential new accounts; developing innovative funding options for continuing education activities; coordinating with clients to ensure complete and efficient fulfillment of all account and/or client needs and objectives; recruiting and interacting with key opinion leaders to fulfill educational needs and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work with President and other Company Executives to develop educational opportunities and long-range management strategies
- Act as a liaison between CME department and grantor, overseeing content appropriateness, scope and accuracy as well as distribution efficiency and format
- Provide guidance and assistance in the development of educational plans and strategies for new educational initiatives
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with ACCME, OIG, and AMA Guideline requirements for CME
- Manage and coordinate the development of needs assessments, budgets and grant requests
- Develop accounts encompassing all aspects of program/project development through thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical market issues, company and project overall strategic objectives
- Review projects for scientific accuracy, therapeutic relevance and identified educational objectives in conjunction with medical writers
- Assess the scope of all assigned projects and identify the range and depth of support necessary for achieving objectives
- Direct project teams on all aspects of project briefing, planning, scheduling, budgets and resources
- Ensure final sign-off on all projects before submission to client and/or final production
- Update President at regular intervals regarding project status and client relationship
- A four-year degree in a medical, science, education or business field
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in the medical and/or pharmaceutical field, with at least two years in account manager role, preferably in a medical education-focused environment
- Previous experience in working with clients in the pharmaceutical industry and with clinical experts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work closely in a team environment; self motivated, with attention to detail
- Ability to conceptualize the processes necessary to ensure completion and timely delivery of projects
- Ability to manage multiple CE projects in various therapeutic areas concurrently
- Experience with current CME guidelines and grant submission process
- Strength in analysis, marketing, planning and problem solving
