Description:


This individual is responsible for reviewing and electronic editing of copy and layout materials in a timely manner, while ensuring that all materials convey clear and accurate messages that are compliant with company policy. A Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; preferably in life sciences and two years proofreading/copy editing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point is required as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain in-house style guides for various clients
  • Ensure editorial accuracy and style/format consistency across various content, including meeting materials (invitations, agendas, program books, signage, etc), slide presentations, monographs, web sites, and other deliverables
    • Format content to approved template(s), as appropriate
    • Proofread against approved copy to ensure correct grammar and spelling
    • Ensure presence of correct trademarks and client-specific requirements
    • Ensure absence of typographical errors
    • Ensure good typography (appropriate spacing and fit with layout)
  • Assist with materials prep (print and electronic) for client review committees
    • Ensure review package is complete / in compliance with client guidelines (i.e., create PDF files, zipped files, cover documentation, etc)
    • Assist writers with reference annotations, as required
    • Participate in copy review committee meetings, as required
  • Implement copy revisions and edits electronically, using the appropriate source program (i.e., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional, etc)
  • Prepare draft copy for non-scientific communications, as required
