Description:
Position entails three major areas of responsibility: medical affairs, management of EDDD, and consultation, each encompassing multiple areas of primary duties as described below.
MEDICAL AFFAIRS
- Recruit and maintain highly qualified medical experts as adjunct faculty
- Cultivate, nurture, and sustain communication, cooperation, and collaoration with EDDD consultants and adjunct faculty
- Serve as the medical liaison of adjunct faculty and other physician experts
- Serve as the medical representative
- Provide medical expertise and consultation to the EDDD team and other staff
- Manage the operations and supervision of the EDDD team
- Prepare, monitor, and reconcile the EDDD budget and serve as the signatory authority for budgeted expenses
- Enhance the quality and integrity of the EDDD department
- Conduct annual personnel reviews of the EDDD team
- Manage the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Six Disciplines (6D) projects related to the EDDD team
- Attain the goals and vital few objectives (VFOs) of the EDDD team
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and accreditation standards governing educational activities, partnerships, and commercial support
- Participate in and contribute to evaluating the overall effectiveness of the CME program
- Implement best practices to maintain ACCME accreditation requirements and attain Level 3 ACCME accreditation status in 2009 and beyond
- Grow the partnerships and educational opportunities area of EDDD to attain, and preferably exceed, annual budget expectations
- Diversify income sources to ensure financial viability and future growth
- Communicate with and inform the President of all matters related to the management, operations, and activities of the EDDD team
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements imposed
- Consult with clients with interests in the future of healthcare, medical affairs, and other areas within the Medical Director’s sphere of expertise and experience
- Assist with site visits to current and potential partners/clients/supporters
- Conceptualize and recommend innovative ideas for future growth and development of EDDD and clients
- Develop and nurture relationships with partners and supporters
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Five or more years of clinical practice (preferred)
- Knowledge of and experience in continuing medical education, accreditation, certification, and credit systems (preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Administrative and managerial expertise and experience
- Expertise in performance and quality improvement methodologies in healthcare (preferred)
- Expertise and experiences in client consultation with in-depth knowledge in cuttingedge advances and innovations in CME, medical practice, and healthcare
