Description:
This position is responsible for managing multiple medical education account teams (business units), as well as contributing to senior management, operations, and new business development activities. Account management responsibilities include working directly with Business Unit Directors to establish client service standards, educational strategies, business development plans, team development and mentoring, and resource planning. The Vice President is also responsible for establishing strong client relationships at the strategic level and participating in proposal development and new business activities. The Vice President is responsible for reporting the financial status of current and future business to the SVP, Client Services on a monthly basis.
The Vice President participates in all management team activities and works with other department managers to facilitate inter- and intra-department communication, conflict resolution, and general operating procedures. He/she also contributes to company-wide new business efforts and identifies opportunities to involve other group companies.
A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in science or business is preferred. Seven plus years relevant job experience is required. Senior leadership experience in a medical communications/education environment and demonstrated ability to manage several direct reports is preferred. Must have an extensive knowledge of medical marketing and communications in the pharmaceutical arena, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong understanding of scientific and medical concepts. Extensive management experience with multidisciplinary teams, proven business development skills, and strong presentation skills, organization, creativity and resourcefulness are a must. Computer proficiency, financial management and planning, and proposal writing skills are also required.
