Summary of the Job
The Account Manager is the bridge between the client and their project needs. They lead the project team to meet the client’s strategic objectives and critical success factors. This individual serves as the trusted advisor to the client and must have a strong awareness of the account’s strategic direction as well as knowledge of the client’s product. The Account Manager must have a thorough understanding of all services and products that our client provides so they may best meet a client’s specific needs. The Account Manager is in a position of leadership within the organization and requires the ability to lead large project teams and manage multiple accounts and projects. For the client, the Account Manager acts as an extension of the brand team and helps them implement various marketing activities. The success of this position relies on the success of the team, meeting client’s expectations, partnering with colleagues, and individual performance. We are seeking an individual with a strategic mindset who is objective driven, organized, proactive, works well under pressure, and has a strong ability to multitask.
Job Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements
- Drive strategic partnerships with clients
- Implement project management methodology to execute projects from the initiating and planning phases through the closing phase
- Ensure that tactical and strategic goals are met, resources maximized, and expenses minimized for all projects
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client
- Facilitate all project meetings with the clients
- Lead the project team and all cross-functional team meetings
- Determine project tasks and timelines and ensure all project deadlines are met
- Develop meeting agendas, meeting notes, and communicate action items
- Monitor labor hours and pass-through costs to the budget and process scope changes when necessary
- Facilitate planning and post-program debrief meetings with the client and the project team
- Provide final approval on all deliverables to ensure strategic objectives are met, project details are accurate, and copyedit updates have been completed
- Lead and actively participate in strategic brainstorming sessions
- Follow and ensure team members follow all policies, procedures, industry standards, and compliance guidelines
- Regularly develop and communicate status reports with management and client; monitors project and team results against client expectations
- Moderate travel to include nights and occasional weekends; the Account Manager provides on-site leadership of program management at events such as speaker training meetings, advisory boards, and dinner seminars for healthcare professionals
Required Education/Experience
- Leadership experience in a corporate, marketing, or life sciences environment
- BA/BS or equivalent
- Team leadership experience
- Project management experience
- PMI certification a plus
