Job Summary:
Responsible for strategically lead account teams for the development, execution, and delivery of strategic planning, early branding and positioning, and scientific education and communication programs to all HCPs, in support of existing and new products launches. Ensures continued growth and profitability of accounts. Identifies and pursues new business opportunities.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Act as the strategic lead for existing and new products, and throughout the brand lifecycle
- Ensure optimal client services and satisfaction
- Provide insights into market and products events and trends to team and clients
- Generate product strategy, scientific positioning and early branding
- Develop tactical plan to support product strategy
- Generate plan and ideas to support lifecycle management of the product after launch
- Identifies and seeks out new business opportunities and expansion of existing accounts.
- Develops and generates written proposals to meet client marketing strategies.
- Leads and participates in client pitches.
- Works on 66% strong existing business and 33% new business development
- Presents company’s capabilities to ensure clients have a clear understanding of the company’s complete offering.
- Serves as a senior resource for client to continuously monitor company/client relationship and ensure resolution of day-to-day account issues.
- Performs overall account analysis to enhance profitability through operational changes, staffing changes, client renegotiations, etc.
- Directs and manages account staff, overseeing execution of all account initiatives from inception through completion.
- Ensures that projects and programs are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Interfaces and collaborates with management within other departments of the organization to ensure continuity, quality, and timely product end results.
- Initiates and participates in strategic and tactical brainstorming sessions across all initiatives within the company.
- Keeps abreast of market news, trends, and competitive activity.
- Submits forecast of annual goals and objectives, including proposals for generating new business and business expansion activities, and development plan for personal and professional growth.
- Motivates and leads a high performance account team; attracts, recruits, and retains members; mentoring and enabling professional growth and career development.
- Understands and upholds company’s mission and values
- Performs other duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS degree
- Experience in launching pharmaceutical products
- Experience in branding and positioning of pharmaceutical products
- Understanding and appreciation for science, or clinical medicine
- Proven track record for developing innovative programs
- Experience in digital media
- Minimum 5 years medical communication agency experience or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
- Strong presentation skills; ability to influence others
- Must possess team building capabilities
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others
- Strong strategic and analytical capabilities
- Sound judgment capabilities
- Detail oriented and able to effectively multi-task
- Excellent time management skills
