Position Summary:
Responsible for high-level promotional content and faculty development. Works across a wide spectrum of therapeutic areas, interacts with key opinion leaders and directs editorial staff in content development. Gives medical presentations at programs & moderates advisory boards, roundtable discussion groups, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Creates program strategic concepts & agenda, content outlines and references
  • Writes and/or reviews program materials
  • Remains current in therapeutic areas relevant to client business (literature reviews, meeting participation, physician networking, etc.) and familiarizes him/herself with product strategic plans
  • Directs freelance medical writers in the development of all content and editorial pieces and ensures that program objectives are met.
  • Assists Account Services with new business development by providing input on proposals, identifying potential opportunities for business expansion, and participating in presentations
  • Interacts with key opinion leaders in a broad range of specialty and general areas of medicine
  • Gives medical presentations at live programs & moderates advisory boards, roundtable discussion groups, etc.
  • Participates in start up meetings to offer strategic and scientific input
Skill Requirements:
  • Excellent project & staff supervisory skills
  • Excellent strategic planning, writing (text), & slide development ability
  • Excellent presentation and moderator skills
  • Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet
Education/Experience:
  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance may qualify. Typical qualifications are equivalent to:
    • MD degree with appropriate clinical fellowship and board-certification preferred
    • PhD or PharmD considered with relevant work experience
    • Medical Communications Agency or Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
    • Experience with promotion Medical Education
Other Requirements:
  • On-site weekend travel to programs (approximately 10 - 12 times per year) required
Needed Attributes:
  • Strong organizational skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate medical/scientific information to non-medical staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Work style must flexible and adaptable to meet client and agency needs
