Job Overview:
This individual is responsible for ensuring exceptional editorial quality of all programs, as well as the management and supervision of in-house editorial staff and freelance editors.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage in-house editorial staff (Associate Editor and Editorial Assistant) and freelance editors
- Provide editorial direction on all materials (including printed programs, live event materials, and website content)
- Ensure consistent adherence to American Psychological Association (APA) publication/editorial guidelines
- Provide final editorial approval on all program content
- Review and approve printer blueline documents
- Collaborate with Clinical Director and President to develop innovative and timely educational programs
Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or higher in a science and/or writing field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical education
- Proficiency in ACCME/ANCC guidelines
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
- Must be a team player, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and have strong organizational skills
- Ability to give direction and delegate tasks efficiently
- Functions effectively in stressful situations where deadlines, client demands, and personnel decisions are required
- Excellent oral communication, written communication, and editorial skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
- Proven proactive problem-solving skills regarding communications with faculty, supporters (where appropriate), and vendors, as well as financial concerns
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Well versed in ongoing current industry-related trends and topics
- Ability to mentor and assist team personnel
