About the Position
The Manager, Compliance & Training is responsible for cross-functional comprehension and adherence to industry compliance standards. This individual will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) related to compliance policies and regulations. Specifically, this individual is accountable for the development, integration, and communication of standard operating procedures. Working closely with internal teams (Client Services, Client Operations, Marketing, and Business Operations), this individual will facilitate the integration of overarching standard operating procedures (SOPs) into role specific job aids (desk procedures). This individual will provide oversight to the training organization to ensure team members demonstrate appropriate comprehension and application of SOPs. Lastly, this individual will maintain high-level external relationships related to compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the business’s SME on industry compliance standards; maintain current understanding of PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, State Reporting, etc.
    • Maintain high level understanding of client specific interpretations of Good Promotional Practices; assist team with obtaining client specific policies/procedures if needed
    • Represent SOPs to external stakeholders when necessary
    • Serve as a liaison to Client Operations, Client Services, and client SMEs to gain clarity, consensus, or achieve resolution
  • Drive the development of SOPs for core functions and high risk areas
    • Work with internal stakeholders to maintain SOPs
    • Assess adherence to SOPs across Client Services, Client Operations, and Marketing
    • Provide input during the development of new products or acquisition of new clients; develop or modify SOPS as needed
  • Facilitate integration of SOPs with efficient project specific work flows and job aids
    • Approve project specific job aids; ensure alignment with SOPs and client mandated processes
    • Monitor adherence to process flows; identify efficiencies across teams
    • Serve as link across operations to ensure consistency in documents
  • Assist in development and maintenance of risk assessment program
    • Identify key assessment and categorization elements and weighting
    • Participate in high risk project kick-off meetings; formally advise on risks and preventative actions during completion of kick-off checklist
  • Develop Quality Control / Assessment Program
    • Maintain corrective and preventative actions report
    • Drive and monitor implementation of corrective and preventative actions
    • Measure comprehension of corrective actions assess success rate of preventative actions
    • Monitor corrective and preventative actions over time; access repeat projects for areas of concern
  • Maintain high level relationships with external stakeholders
    • Represent interests
    • Report issues / challenges to respective client leads
  • Maintain communication with internal stakeholders
    • Advise Portfolio Manager on key risks areas
    • Serve as liaison to Client Services and Client Operations during the development and execution of new projects
    • Interface with IT during the integration of new SOPs and supporting solutions
    • Consult with Business Operations regarding pricing models and data analysis needs
  • Drive development of training programs
  • Manage Compliance team, including personnel management and role specific training

  • PhRMA, OIG, HIPPA, CAN-SPAM, data protection knowledge preferred
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Pharmaceutical background preferred
  • At least seven (7) years related experience
  • At least five (5) years experience managing people
