Description:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To develop, install and maintain systems software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be responsible for the development of internal and external system applications based on stakeholder client specifications.
• Gather information about both business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
• Develop detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development.
• Code, test, debug and document complex programs, and enhance existing programs to ensure that data processing production systems continue to meet user requirements.
• Identify and resolve system operating programs in order to provide continuous business operations.
• Interact with stakeholders and management regarding project status to promote an environment with improved productivity and satisfaction.
• Assist in scheduling, determining manpower requirements and estimating costs to project completion.
• Assist in defining department standards and procedures for application development.
• Research and evaluate software and hardware for possible system enhancements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Up to three (3) years of progressively responsible general programming experience.
• Experience developing data driven web applications particularly using .Net, Cold Fusion, and SQL Server and/or other such platforms as JSP, ASP, PHP, Ruby and MySQL or Oracle are acceptable.
• Experience using SQL Server utilities such as Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer or related database management software.
• Knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Able to use stored procedures, knowledge of other db features (views, indexes and triggers).
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming techniques, programming frameworks and methodologies.
• Solid understanding of information technology concepts, tools and techniques.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Able to prioritize work load and consistently meet deadline.
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply applications knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
