Description:
The Traffic Director (TD) is responsible for the timely and cost-efficient movement of work throughout all agency departments. Under the direction of the Executive Vice President, and working directly with the Creative Directors, Director of Operations and Account Management, the TD is charged with codifying, implementing and monitoring agency-wide processes regarding the flow of all work throughout the agency.
The position requires extensive agency traffic management experience, a firm grasp on agency processes and workflow for projects spanning all media, including print, collateral, television, radio and interactive, as well as a proven ability to collaborate with agency leaders in account, creative, and production management.
The Traffic Director must demonstrate leadership in the agency through a commitment to maximizing agency profitability while simultaneously nurturing a working environment conducive to high-quality creative deliverables.
Specifically, the Traffic Director has the following responsibilities:
- Assess, refine, administrate and enforce Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for workflow processes with all agency departments, from inception to delivery
- Communicate current project status via regularly scheduled status meetings in addition to other required workflow reports, including a daily project status report (hot sheet)
- Improve efficiency through appropriate reassignment of staff or work with the approval of the appropriate managers
- Anticipate and proactively resolve workflow problems (staffing, timing, etc,) and provide necessary communication to the appropriate managers
- Work with Creative Directors, Director of Operations and Account Management to identify and secure freelance resources as required by work volume
- Work with the Director of Operations, Director of Finance /Benefits, and the Network System Administrator to identify and coordinate equipment/system needs for staff, including freelance staff
- Coordinate the training of new agency personnel and freelance staff with the Director of Operations, Director of Finance /Benefits, the Network System Administrator, and the appropriate managers
- Act as an internal evangelist for, and enforcer of, defined workflow processes
- College degree preferred
- Minimum 5-8 years agency experience with 2-3 years of project or traffic management in an agency- or marketing-related field
- Expertise in assessing, refining and enforcing workflow processes, and a prior background working successfully with executive-level decision makers.
- Proficiency in standard project management software
- Excellent organization and time management skills as well a superior attention to detail
