Position Summary:
The role of the President is to meet the Company objectives for the marketing communications group, which includes account oversight and management, personnel management and development, corporate strategy and new business opportunity identification and development. The President will also have P&L responsibilities for the marketing communications group and will be held accountable for attaining clearly identified milestones. The President will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all client and account management to ensure strategic direction, growth and retention of accounts, and reaching profitability goal.
- Provide senior support to existing clients through relationships, strategic consultation, and proactive development of new business opportunities.
- Oversee development and approval of proposals, strategies, and estimates in conjunction with account team to ensure that objectives, strategic as well as financial goals are met.
- Identify areas to assist Account Management to maintain and grow existing accounts and expand into new product teams; maintain and improve relationships with existing clients
- Take a lead role in targeting appropriate new business opportunities as well as the other Business Units.
- Identify opportunities to secure business in non-traditional client organizations.
- Participate in creating and presenting new business proposals, presentations, and comprehensive strategic plans including large-scale RFPs.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing talent
- Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to grow a profitable enterprise
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, science or other related field; advanced degree in science, medicine, or business administration preferred
- 10 years in progressively more senior positions in account management and/or business development in healthcare, medical, scientific, pharmaceuticals, or advertising/communications agency or institution
- Understanding of health-care communications and ability to apply knowledge to assist clients in strategic planning of marketing initiatives
- Experience in revenue projections, retention, and growth of existing accounts to reach profitability goal
- Experience in business plan development of short- and long-range goals. Experience in profit and loss budget preparation, management, and administration
- Strong understanding of staff development including training, professional development, team building, and retention
- Active in industry associations
- Strong communication skills
