Description:
The CopyWriter is expected to develop language that is original competing proprietary, and synergistic with art/graphic elements. In partnership with the Agency product team, the CopyWriter will develop multiple concepts/campaigns for assigned products and/or projects.
Responsibilities:
- Translate marketing strategy into promotional concepts.
- Write copy for both promotional and educational projects.
- Perform research to ensure proper reference support.
- Digest scientific material and understand FDA guidelines.
- Write copy for assigned products/projects and develops language that is original competing proprietary, and synergistic with art/graphic elements.
- Develop multiple concepts/campaigns for assigned products/projects in partnership with Art Director and Agency product team.
- Prepare creative patterns/rationales for promotional concepts as necessary to ensure understanding and acceptance of ideas.
- Defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to alternative and further explorations that may be deemed effective or appropriate.
- Explore/develop/produce innovative ideas appropriate to the Client’s marketing strategy.
- Solve creative problems within areas of direct responsibility.
- Coordinate with Account Services and Art Director in identifying and obtaining information needed to carry out assignments.
- Present creative work and property prepares for all Client presentations.
- Incorporate and/or explores Client suggestions and directives, resolves questions and concerns and overcomes objections.
- Make sound, timely decisions about changes to work in progress.
- Organize all creative materials to ensure their smooth transition to other departments.
- Perform basic proofing/editing on all copy, paying strict attention to details of copy/art agreement.
- Provide adequate support coverage for other accounts/projects as determined by supervisor.
- Must be highly creative, and have excellent writing skills.
- 3-5 years experience as a medical copywriter in a pharmaceutical ad agency
- Must be a self-starter and a team player
- Does not require a heavy science person.
