Description:
Establishes and maintains site maps, wireframes and functional requirements of interactive endeavors and implements the tools that will be used to set direction and manage scope within the context of interactive engagements. The information architect will also have quality assurance responsibilities for the materials delivered to the client and internal agency stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Assist in defining strategy, content, and features for the effective and consistent design and development of websites, CD-ROMs, Tablet PC programs and multi-media presentations.
- Define the architecture and navigational foundation to serve as a blueprint of the deliverable upon which all other aspects are built.
- Create, revise and own information architecture documents for Internet, Extranet, and Intranet websites, as well as other on- and offline applications including sitemaps, concept diagrams, flowcharts, personas, user scenarios, wireframes, and functional requirements documents to manage scope and expectations for the client engagements.
- Interface with appropriate internal agency and client teams to make certain approved changes are documented and implemented within required deliverables over the course of a project to ensure that the most innovative creative and production methods are employed and that creative concepts and products are appropriate for interactive media delivery within quality assurance expectations
- Conduct secondary research in support of existing interactive client engagements by working with other business units and external entities to gather and analyze available data and make recommendations against the stated business challenge.
- Scope and estimate the level of involvement required from the information architect function to manage budgetary expectations and commitments.
- Manage internal workflow by meeting regularly with creative, production and account management staff to assess the development of projects by reviewing work product, monitoring resource allocation, accessing appropriateness and effectiveness of assignments to determine whether project is on target and within the scope of the project brief.
- Participate in New Business Development by writing and coordinating responsibilities for new business presentations and client requests-for-information and participate in client pitches as needed.
- Review and update information architecture methodologies and processes to standardize internal workflow as an advocate for User-Centered Design. Supervise junior level information architects and freelance staff by evaluating individual skill sets, orienting individuals to SOPs, Kinect specific technology and software tools, providing necessary resources and direction, and responding to questions to determine appropriate project assignment and resource allocation.
- Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline (e.g., journalism, instructional design, library or information science) or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.
- Pharmaceutical marketing experience highly desirable. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including speaking and presentation skills. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Visio. An outstanding portfolio of detailed page schematics, functional specifications, interaction flows, site maps, navigation systems, and web-appropriate writing.
- Strong knowledge of web technologies, content management systems, and databases. Ability to articulate business strategy and branding issues, and to balance these with user needs and technological constraints
