Manage the process of creating high quality creative advertising materials and to act as second-in-command on designated accounts to the Group Creative Director.
Required Skills
- Provides strong support to the Group Creative Director in managing accounts and personnel by maintaining internal and client relationships and stepping up in the GCD’s absence at any time with credibility.
- Provide brand stewardship by being fully knowledgable on all accounts and clients in the group, including those on which they are not currently assigned.
- Maintains strong working relationships with all personnel in the group including those with whom they do not currently work.
- Maintains consistently high executional excellence by ensuring appropriate resources are assigned to projects, time lines are managed and strategic brand Ensures smooth internal workflow by utilizing effective delegation, the assignment/reassignment of appropriate resources to jobs, providing direction and counsel as needed.
- Oversees the copy process by meeting regularly with copywriters and Account Management to assess project development, review work product and determine whether project is on target and within the scope of the Creative Brief.
- Provides accurate written ad copy by conducting brand and/or product research, applying consistent style and message across brand documents, understanding style and referencing usage, applying appropriate regulatory requirements, etc.
- Act as a client liaison by presenting various stages of work product to the client and effectively responding to client requests or inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provides supervision and oversight to freelance staff by determining appropriate project assignment based on individual skill sets, orienting new employees to SOPs, providing necessary resources and direction, and responding to questions.
- Establishes and maintains high internal quality by originating creative ideas, managing project time lines, adhering to Creative Briefs, ensuring consistency of strategic branding.
- Acts as a mentor to departmental employees by providing developmental opportunities, responding to questions, providing direction on resource utilization (internally and externally), etc.
- Bachelors Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts or equivalent creative background
- 10+ years of demonstrating strong leadership skills
- Solid strategic and tactical instincts
- Ability to present and sell to the client
- Must be effective at motivating and developing people
- Have the ability to anticipate problems and react appropriately
- High level of communication skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure and time constraints
- Must possess a strong team-orientation
