Broad Function:
A seasoned writer who brings ingenuity to the creative team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works with art director to conceive and execute concepts (for advertising, sales materials, multimedia, etc.) that are creative and consistent with strategy.
  • Presents work with knowledge and flair; defends work with logic, creativity and (appropriate) passion.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Takes an active interest in clients’ market and develops a sound knowledge of clients’ product and target audiences.
  • Demonstrates the ability to review existing materials, gather appropriate in-house resources, and identify further research needs to begin a project. Works with account team to understand and develop solid strategies for client initiatives.
  • Writes in a range of voices and styles as appropriate for different clients and mediums.
  • Employs creativity in phrasing, word choice, structure, analogy and metaphor.
  • Follows through on original concepts with clear, concise and convincing copy that is both grammatically and materially sound.
  • Assists account team in determining time budgets for projects. Delivers work within allotted times and on budget.
  • Offers well-reasoned and thoughtful critiques of other’s work. Incorporates ideas and makes revisions in response to the well-reasoned criticisms of other team members and clients.
  • Provides both formal and informal direction and support for junior creatives.
  • Prepares comprehensive and appropriate questions for account team, clients, and related interviews. Leverages interview opportunities by asking pointed follow-up questions and probing on unexpected answers and directions.
  • Maintains responsibility for project through proofing, reviewing and signing off on all revisions and production phases.
  • Adheres to agency standards regarding copy format; the naming, transferring and treatment of electronic files; revisions and proofreading.
