Job Summary:
Initially responsible for the day to day support of multiple existing key internal applications written in VB.NET and ASP.NET. This position will work closely with the Client Services and Program Administration departments to provide support for these applications as well as identify and develop enhancements, new functionality, and provide bug fixes under the guidance of the original application developers. The position will also assist in the documentation of the applications.
Programming functions will include primarily thick client and web user interfaces, database interaction, process automation, and data feeds to and from external and internal sources to support the daily order processing and sample management operations for the company.
Position requires extensive knowledge of .NET programming in thick-client and web-based applications (VB/ASP) and SQL. This position will require excellent communication skills to work with all levels of the organization and potentially external clients.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Support for and development of applications to ensure client deliverables are being met
- Testing and validation of code for accuracy and completeness against software requirements
- Interaction with internal/external programming resources
- Accurate tracking of time for costing to various projects and reporting as necessary
- Follow applicable SOPs
- Work to support the company Mission Statement at all times
- Assist with other tasks assigned by management
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Skills
- Required:
- Demonstrated ability and experience with object oriented design and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Minimum of 2 years in data-driven application development utilizing VB.NET/ASP.NET with SQL Server databases.
- Preferred:
- SQL Server 2005, some C# .NET experience.
