Position Summary:
- Reports to the Creative Director, possesses the ability to take abstract concepts and minimal corporate visualization and turn them into visually exciting, cutting-edge corporate graphics that are Web-friendly, easy to navigate, representative of the client’s goals, within branding guidelines, communicative of information architecture, and beneficial to the user experiences
- Works closely with copywriters and studio staff
- Helps/mentors the interactive designers
- Develops creative concepts and pushes the limits of design to make award-winning Web sites
- Presents creative concepts to clients; defends and fights for creative license
- Incorporates client feedback as appropriate
- Creates feature sets, navigational schemes, and style guides of overall look and feel-tone, comps, or page layouts
- Creates storyboards and animation if needed
- Directs photographers, illustrators, etc
- Produces graphics and HTML code if needed
- Reviews work of interactive designers and empowers them to do great work
- Follows the creative process and helps interactive designers with the creative process
- Mentors and develops interactive designers
- Performs other duties as assigned
- At least 5 years agency (or in-house agency) interactive experience
- Internet experience and a degree in design or computer science
- Ability to collaborate closely with others in a team environment under tight deadlines
- Ability to manage small design teams throughout a project life cycle
- Interface design experience allowing users to navigate through large volumes of content easily and dynamically, often including database interaction
- Ability to clearly articulate and present designs to clients and communicate consistent style guidelines that can be efficiently executed
- In-depth knowledge of PhotoShop, Illustrator, Freehand, HTML, and animation such as Flash or Shockwave
- Web color theory and Image Ready, typography, and corporate identity are a must
- Ability to work within a very dynamic environment
- Ability to read and digest One Show, CA, and other award manuals
