Position Summary:
Oversee all day-to-day Agency activities and contribute to building the brand at a strategic level. Usually responsible for a group of brands and/or a group of account services personnel.

Responsibilities Of Position
  • Job Knowledge
    • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for all agency procedures and work flow. Evaluate on an ongoing basis making recommendations for improvement
    • Supervise day-to-day activities on assigned accounts
    • "Paint" the big picture to team members regarding activities on assigned accounts
    • Demonstrate expertise in the assigned therapeutic categories, markets and products/science.
    • Direct creation of monthly status reports, job opening checklists, contact reports, work orders, estimates and other correspondence; Ensures timely and accurate execution of said
    • Assigns, oversees and evaluates activities of other Account team members
    • Develop, write and implement Communications Plans
    • Interact with all levels of creative staff in review of projects ensuring consistency with client objectives and brand strategy
    • Demonstrate advertising and marketing expertise

    • Ensures highest quality is being delivered on all jobs, ensuring Client is satisfied with final outcome
    • Ensures successful completion of all assigned jobs on time and on budget

  • Client Relations/New Business
    • Possess thorough knowledge of clients’ systems and procedures for tracking jobs and ensure internal team adheres to these
    • Communicate routinely with Client regarding the status of all projects. Ensures high level of quality and timeliness to all projects and requests.
    • Serves as primary contact with Client and continually builds relationships at all levels of product/marketing management
  • Account Management
    • Demonstrate outstanding business sense overall and ability to define key issues
    • Oversees and ensures all members of the team work together smoothly and effectively; a key internal driver to get specific work accomplished
    • Work closely with creative staff, documenting and actively passing on Client direction, collaborating on jobs and communicating fundamentals of what needs to be done and when
    • Oversee quality control on all jobs, from both a creative and strategic point of view, ensuring Client comments are always considered and/or incorporated. Jobs include creative items as well as marketing plans and pov’s that are generated only by the account group
    • Plays the key role in both internal and client meetings, contributing at a strategic level.
    • Continuously monitor the marketplace and provide value-added updates to the Client and Agency on brand, category and industry issues
    • Actively pursues new business leads and new opportunities at the Client, and elsewhere
  • Financial Management
    • Manage all financial aspects of the account including overseeing the billing process and P&L responsibilities.
  • Strategic Thinking/Analytical Ability
    • Provide strategic and marketing guidance to client and agency team
    • Proactively provide client with points of view and recommendations on business building, market research and competitive activities
    • Demonstrate ability to apply marketing knowledge to brand building initiatives
    • Demonstrate ability to use information and data effectively
  • Management/Leadership Skills
    • Provide effective direction to agency team ensuring team communication especially among Account Services, Creative and Medical Affairs/Education
    • Understanding of roles and responsibilities of team members and ability to interact effectively with varying levels of personnel
    • Development and maintenance of positive relationships with peers and senior management (copy, art, medical affairs/med ed)
    • Advises senior management of all internal and external issues that impact business
    • Is the team captain; commands respect and is able to move things forward
    • Ensures appropriate utilization of agency resources
    • Demonstrate ability to evaluate potential issues within agency and provide corresponding solutions

    • Oversee management and development of account services personnel which may include Account Supervisor, Senior Account Executive, Account Executive and/or Assistant Account Executive.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6-8 years agency experience with a minimum of 1-2 years in an Account Supervisor role
  • OR a combination of 8 plus years experience in a marketing services environment with pharmaceutical sales experience
