Key Responsibilities:
Works with copy writer to conceive and execute concepts (for advertising, sales materials, multimedia, etc.) that are creative and consistent with strategy. Presents work with knowledge and flair; defends work with logic, creativity and (appropriate) passion.
Broad Function:
Experienced professional who combines outrageous conceptual skills with a well-honed understanding of effective communications design.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Takes an active interest in client’s market and develops a sound knowledge of clients’ product and target audiences.
- Demonstrates the ability to review existing materials, gather appropriate in-house resources, and identify further research needs to begin a project. Works with account team to understand and develop solid strategies for client initiatives.
- Designs in a range so styles as appropriate for different clients and mediums.
- Follows through on original concepts with creative image, design and type choices.
- Assists account team in determining time budgets for projects. Works with production team to create comprehensive specifications in order to create reasonable estimates. Delivers work within allotted times and on budget.
- Seeks out and works with photographers, illustrators and other suppliers to produce high-quality work for clients. Works closely with print production team to secure services for costs and under conditions in line with the agency’s needs.
- Offers well-reasoned and thoughtful critiques of others’ work. Incorporates ideas and makes revisions in response to the well-reasoned criticisms of other team members and clients.
- Provides both formal and informal direction and support for junior creatives.
- Seeks out and masters new skills and technologies which enhance creativity and productivity.
- Maintains responsibility for projects through proofing, reviewing and signing off on all revisions and production phases.
- Maintains consistent quality and proper documentation on all files for print and multimedia.
- Adheres to agency standards regarding copy format; the naming, transferring and treatment of electronic files; revisions and proofreading.
- Combines exceptional conceptual talent and superior design skills.
- Conceives and executes ideas for a wide range of media.
- Collaborates with other departments (account service, production, traffic) to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of clients’ business and marketing challenges.
- Presents and supports work with strategic thinking and creative flair.
- Directs and evaluates the work of junior creatives.
