Description:
OBJECTIVE:
This position is primarily responsibility for maximizing the global product value. This position is responsible, from short- and long-term point of view, for pursuing globally aligned product positioning, appropriately aligned key product messages, and supporting efficient collaborative activities of each local marketing region (US, EU, and Japan). This position is responsible for planning and aligning necessary tactics and activities, global KOL development, alignment of publication strategy, etc. in collaboration with local marketing at US/EU/JP and GMSA and Regional GMSA. This position is also responsible for training and developing a sub-leader so that he/she can be GPL of next generation.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead the collaboration of regions to pursue aligned product positioning and key product messages in collaboration with representatives of local marketing at US/EU/JP and MSA (organizing Global Marketing Strategy Team meeting, etc.).
- Plan and execute activities at international medical conferences/symposia to support global messages, in collaboration with GMSA and regional marketing.
- Align global scientific strategy in collaboration with GMSA and regional marketing including strategy for Phase 4 clinical trials.
- Develop and manage global KOLs in cooperation with GMSA and each marketing region, and support each marketing region in their local KOL development.
- Function on PST and closely collaborate with the marketing regions on life cycle management plans (incl. indication expansion and line extensions).
- Facilitate alignment of branding strategy on global basis by facilitating collaboration of the three marketing regions.
- Ensure global sharing of necessary information to support regional marketing activities.
- Support GMSA for risk management of the relevant product(s).
- Educate and train a sub-leader for superior performance and development.
- Required:
- Bachelors degree
- 10+ years of marketing, sales or related function experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 5 years in management-level positions with increasing responsibilities.
- Desired:
- MBA preferred
- Experience in marketing positions at a commercial pharmaceutical organization. Strong scientific understanding.
- Industry knowledge - comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Therapeutic knowledge - an in-depth understanding of the relevant disease state, treatment paradigms and future trends.
- Product knowledge - comprehensive understanding of the medical /therapeutic usage of the products.
- Marketing Techniques - comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical marketing methods, tools and concepts. (i.e., market research, positioning, message development, advertising, public relations, media placement, etc.)
- Strategic Planning and Implementation - Ability to understand marketing strategies from multiple global regions and facilitate the alignment of strategies.
- Cross-cultural leadership - Ability to successfully facilitate groups from US, EU, and Japan understanding the business cultures of each region.
- People Development - Ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of staff members and provide suggestions for improvements.
- Management - Ability to set priorities, develop workflow processes, and direct staff.
- Communication - Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written, in a manner that ensures clarity among US, EU, and Japan partners.
- Budgeting - Ability to create and maintain an accurate budget for department expenses.
- Medical knowledge - Ability to understand scientific and medical information to help collaborate with GMSA and regional MSA.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Requires approximately 30 to 40% travel, including overnight trips.
- Some periods may require more extensive travel.
- Much of the travel will be international
