Description
This position is responsible for performing analytical testing of raw material, finished product and validation samples which includes Chromatographic (HPLC, GC, TLC), Spectroscopic (UV-VIS, FTIR, AA), Titration color-indicated and potentiometeric), Dissolution, Viscosity, pH, and various wet chemistry/physical testing techniques. Responsible for the scientific interpretation and compilation of the data associated with such techniques. Understands regulatory standards and requirements and performs all activities within their confines. Skilled in sample and standard preparation, with strong emphasis on analytical balance weighing and pipetting skills.
Typical Duties
- Conduct all testing assignments dictated by QC Laboratory Management in a compliant and efficient manner.
- Accurately document all activities, rigorously adhering to cGMP/GLP and all company standards.
- Strictly adhere to all approved methodologies without deviation.
- Prepares standard, reagent and sample solutions, using proper documentation pathways.
- Ability to interpret and follow USP/NF monograph requirements.
- Conduct all activities while adhering to company and departmental safety program.
- Responsible for maintaining the personal work area appearance and any other areas as defined by Laboratory Management.
- If required by Laboratory Management, checks other chemists’ lab notebooks for accuracy and adherence to approved procedures.
- Assists Laboratory Management with troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
- B.S. in Chemistry (new graduates will be accepted)
- 1-2 years of previous analytical chemistry experience.
- 1-2 years experience in a pharmaceutical setting.
- Must have excellent computer and software skills.
- Good problem solving aptitude, communication and multi-tasking skills.
